Children’s Scholarship Program

Each year, our Long Term Disability Plan Administrators, California Public Safety Administrators, Inc., donate three scholarships to the children of CAPF Plan Participants.

The 2026 Scholarship distribution will consist of $3,000 – three awards of $1,000 each.

Two Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors enrolling in a community college, university, vocational or technical school.

One Scholarship will be awarded to students continuing their studies at a community college, university, or vocational or technical school.

This is a valuable opportunity to provide your children with scholarship funds to help them achieve their higher education goals!

Congratulations to the 2026 Recipients

We are very pleased to announce the following three students who have been awarded the CAPF Children’s Scholarships for 2026:

High School Recipients

Lauren Pounds – graduating from Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park, CA. She will be attending Santa Rosa Junior College and North Coast Air School while pursuing studies in Aviation Administration. Lauren’s goal is to become a Commercial Pilot and build a career in aviation. Parent: Justin Pounds – Oakland Firefighters

Emily Hudson – graduating from El Capitan High School in Lakeside, CA. She plans to attend Grossmont Community College before transferring to San Diego State University, where she will major in Medical Sonography. Emily hopes to become a Pediatric Ultrasound Technician and make a meaningful impact in children’s healthcare. Parent: Dave Hudson – CALFIRE

College Recipients

Malia Uhrich – continuing her education at Arizona State University while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Malia’s goal is to become a Pediatric Oncology Nurse, providing compassionate care and support to children and families facing difficult medical journeys.
